Who is Damien Carrion?

Damien Carrion is honest, vulnerable, true to the moment, and pure. You may ask yourself, what does all of this mean? To fathom what I'm saying, you must first understand that visual art goes beyond what's seen.

Visual art is a language, which means that the work not only pulls you in visually, but it speaks to you. Sometimes it has something pleasant to say, and sometimes it speaks to a horror. Whatever your experience, the work came alive and said something unique to you. It spoke to you in a way that makes you appreciate, love, or newly understand something about yourself.

Honesty, vulnerability, being true to the moment, and pureness, are all factors of great art. These characteristics are the building blocks of all artistry. Damien Carrion holds these attributes and elements within his soul and shares them with each work produced. Like many artists, he has a range of masterful techniques and is visually vibrant. However, preeminent to all of that is the mastership to convey what he's feeling. That sole ability allows him to create personal and intimate experiences for each observer.

So, to answer the first question: who is Damien Carrion? I would answer that by saying that Damien is different from everyone who views his work. He is a revealer of your truth, hidden dogmas, and values. To know Damien is to know yourself. Come, and experience his work and the works of others.

Our Origin Story

The Manikin Lounge and Live Music Venue is the birthchild of rumored immortal Tom Morris, a possible descendant of Vlad the Impaler. Tom having, been born in the late sixteenth century, has seen the world many times over. So out of necessity and at to avoid the risk of being bored to death by ordinary venues. He decided to create a haven for those that crave and feed on exhilarating natures.

Therefore he created Manikins, which is a place where he, his fellow kin, other supernaturals, and celestials could miraculously transcend together. So, come, and step away from the overwhelming mediocrity of minor venues. Choose whatever fabulous or ghostly essence you live to express, and experience the eclectic culture of the 80's Goth, Darkwave, Ebm, Industrial, New Wave, Rock, Metal, and other origins.
